Lugano-based WYTH has developed a platform for hybrid and digital events adding value to both events and participants. For its platform the start-up won this year’s Grand Prix Möbius Suisse.

Digital transformation has received a major boost in the wake of the pandemic, but shifting to full-online is not always seamless. The entertainment and events sector, for instance, knows this very well. A sector that almost came to a grinding halt and which was forced to reinvent itself in many ways in order to survive. But, as Einstein said, “in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”. The good news here is that event organisers can count on solutions provided by innovative entrepreneurs, like those that went on stage on 16 October in Lugano at the 25th Grand Prix Möbius Suisse. The prize went to Lugano-based WYTH, for having developed a bespoke platform for hybrid and digital events that “enables a quality physical and digital relationship, adding value to both event and participants”.

WYTH is a cloud-based solution that allows to create customised platforms where physical and digital converge, and to host training programmes, product launches, festivals and digital or hybrid events, enabling also networking activities between participants. Thanks to two proprietary algorithms, people with similar interests can get in touch, share information, chat and actively participate in the same events. WYTH can automatically scale to handle millions of users and host an unlimited number of streaming rooms in HD/4k broadcast quality. It is able to meet all the most demanding security standards, typical of multinationals and government agencies, guaranteeing complete data ownership to the organiser.

The other two finalists were Stagend, an online and real-time booking portal for event planners seeking entertainers, and Swicket, the innovative on- and offline ticketing solution for events.

The Möbius Lugano Foundation reflects on the opportunities and risks related to the digital society. The 25-year old Foundation promotes initiatives to discuss and develop the important subjects of digital culture in its many forms, which deal with issues of great importance for social evolution. This year the focus of Möbius was on digital transformation and culture, with success stories, on the one hand, and the prospects in the fields of arts, entertainment, publishing and broadcast media, on the other.
