Flowbone's injectable bon-seeding gel

Six award programs in Switzerland, Germany, Luxemburg and beyond had Swiss startups collect accolades after winning the competitions. While the majority companies received recognition trophies, three look forward to several weeks of working with industry experts to advance their solutions.

Skypull – Grand Prix Möbius Suisse, Switzerland
Back in 2013, Skypull embarked on the journey to develop a high-altitude wind energy production system to accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources. The system consists of a generator on the ground connected via a coil and cable to a patented drone that, while flying autonomously in the wind, pulls the cable and activates the generator. Without the need for huge towers and tons of material, Skypull is easily deployable with negligible ecological and aesthetic impact in a larger number of locations. Thanks to its innovativeness, the startup won the Grand Prix Möbius Suisse 2022. Held in collaboration with the Fondazione Agire, this award category is dedicated to the activities of innovative companies in relation to the theme "Digital and energy".

Exeon Cybersecurity & Privacy Solution of the Year Award, Luxemburg
The Swiss security company Exeon Analytics was awarded the Cybersecurity & Privacy Solution of the Year Award at Cyber Security Week in Luxembourg. The award recognises companies that have demonstrated excellence at all levels, from strategy to execution. The startup developed ExeonTrace, a Network Detection & Response solution that utilises AI algorithms to monitor corporate networks and can detect cyber threats automatically and at an early stage. ExeonTrace's powerful AI algorithms are based on over ten years of academic research at ETH Zurich, which has given Exeon an innovative edge over international competitors. Since its market launch, ExeonTrace has proven itself in daily security operations by medium and large companies such as PostFinance, Planzer and Swiss Airlines.

Flowbone - Heraeus Accelerator 2022, Germany
With the mission to improve the lives of osteoporosis patients by strengthening their bones, Flowbone developed a new generation of injectable, "bone-seeding" gel for a quick and subtle, local strengthening of fragile bones. Flowbone is one of the four startups joining the 3-month Heraeus Accelerator program, whose aim is to support up-and-coming companies in the fields of materials science, technology and digitalization in their growth phase. The two-phase program allows startups to work with the Heraeus business unit and experts who provide mentoring and present their solutions during the Demo-day.

Two startups join the first Launchpad program – Switzerland
The Beyond Gravity Incubator has launched the first edition of the Launchpad program, an 8-week startup program offering young entrepreneurs direct access to the international space community, highly specialized engineers, exclusive technologies and a wide variety of production resources. Rimon Technologies, Modulos AG from Switzerland are one of the four startups selected for the premier program. Rimon is an ETH Spinoff developing an augmented reality platform for service technicians while Modulus offers a Data-Centric AI that identifies the sources of noise and bias in data responsible for the inaccuracy and unfairness of models.

CelsiusPro, Riskwolf and dacadoo – Insuretech 100, Global
The Insurtech 100 is a global list recognizing the 100 most innovative Insurtech companies worldwide. Three Swiss companies made it to the list. CelsiusPro is pioneering parametric insurance solutions to help its clients worldwide mitigate the effects of extreme weather and natural catastrophes. Using unique data and dynamic risk modelling, Riskwolf empowers actuarial and underwriting teams to build and operate parametric insurance at scale. Dacadoo is dedicated to driving digital transformation in healthcare and strengthening health and wellbeing through active engagement and artificial intelligence.

Transcality – International Entrepreneurs' Night, Munich
The recently held International Entrepreneurs' Night by UnternehmerTUM brings together Munich’s entrepreneurial network and international guests to learn, exchange and witness the awarding of the best startup pitch. Zurich-based mobility startup Transcality won the pitch competition. The company builds a digital replica of traffic coupled with ready-to-use simulation that enables organisations to model future scenarios.
