New national competition for smart energy start-ups

To highlight the best Swiss startups active in the field of intelligent energy use: this is the objective of the first edition of the first Smart Energy Start-up Pitch Contest. This event will be organized on September 1st, within the framework of the 13th edition of the Smart Energy Event, on the Energypolis Campus in Sion. Interested start-ups can apply now. CHF 15'000 are to be won!

A jury will select a dozen start-ups, which will present their innovations in a few minutes in front of the participants of the Smart Energy Event. Three companies will be rewarded (best idea, best pitch and public prize) and will leave with a total prize of CHF 5,000. To participate, interested start-ups must have been founded after 2013 and be active in the energy sector. They can be based in Switzerland or abroad. Applications can be submitted free of charge on the website before June 5th, 2023.  

The finalists will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

  • innovative nature of the product or service
  • commercial potential of the product or service
  • maturity of the innovation (pilots/completed or ongoing projects)
  • references
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a quality pitch

On the sidelines of the Smart Energy Event

The first Smart Energy Startup Contest, which aims to highlight the richness of the Swiss economic fabric, is organized by The Ark Foundation and CleantechAlps, with the support of the HES-SO Valais, FMV, Siemens, OIKEN, ElectroSuisse, EPFL and Venturelab. It is organized in conjunction with the Smart Energy Event (August 31 - September 1st), a reference event in the field of intelligent energy management since 2011. This year's national event will focus on the theme of new economic opportunities for SMEs, energy producers and distributors.
