SIX Swiss Stock Exchange
The partnership between SIX Swiss Exchange and Venturelab will provide entrepreneurs and SMEs with the tools and training to strengthen their financing and growth. SIX Swiss Exchange will also become a Gold Partner for the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award 2021 to offer a training program for high-potential IPO candidates.

SIX Swiss Exchange and Venturelab aim to equip Swiss entrepreneurs to make optimal decisions about their financing—in private and public capital markets. The collaboration will also enable the best Swiss startups to go public on the Swiss stock exchange and raise growth capital.

Valeria Ceccarelli, Head Primary Markets at SIX Swiss Exchange, explained: “We are convinced that the distinct advantages of public markets can help many more SMEs grow stronger. Public markets offer fast and efficient capital raising. This cooperation with Venturelab will help us spread awareness of the multiple benefits of being a publicly listed company and the many additional ways in which an IPO can spark growth—whether a company needs to raise capital today or in the future.” In July, SIX announced a new stock exchange venue for SME called Sparks

Stefan Steiner, Co-managing Director of Venturelab, echoed this view: “We believe that an IPO has always been an important option for scale-ups, and we need to further raise awareness of its benefits. Today, most entrepreneurs lack the necessary knowledge of how IPOs work, and many misconceptions potentially limit growth opportunities for these organizations.”

SIX Swiss Exchange is a new Gold Partner of the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award
The TOP 100 partnership will offer exclusive training programs for high-potential, fast-growing IPO candidates and will complete the value chain and access to capital for the most promising Swiss startups.

The TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award has grown into a true benchmark in Switzerland: What started as a one-evening award ceremony in 2011 now includes a range of comprehensive activities that support the TOP 100 Swiss Startups. Being among the TOP 100 has become a seal of approval for entrepreneurs, and the ranking provides them with the recognition they deserve. Each year, investors and experts of the startup ecosystem select the most promising startups.

“The TOP 100 partnership will make the full range of options available to the most promising Swiss entrepreneurs—VC, PE, trade sale, and IPO—so they can make the best possible decisions to fuel the growth of their businesses,” Steiner added.

Since 2011, the TOP 100 Startups have created 11,100 jobs and raised CHF 6.1 billion—56 exits and three IPOs top off the achievements of these innovators. On September 8, 2021, the new ranking will be published at the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award 2021. The registration for the live stream of the award ceremony on September 7 is open.
