BestMile announces two new additions to its executive team. Lissa Franklin has joined the company as Vice President Business Development and Marketing, and Marco Laumanns as Vice President Research. Both executives have impressive track records in connected vehicle and transportation services.

Since its launch in 2014, BestMile’s platform has enabled the transportation of more than 200,000 people globally in commercial autonomous deployments in cities, campuses, public roads and more. To grow globally the company is adding experienced new employees to its managing team. Earlier this year Zhao Lu joined BestMile as new CTO and now two more managers were added.

Lissa Franklin brings extensive experience in market development and customer-driven solutions in new mobility services. At BestMile she directs a team of business development professionals in Europe and the U.S. and leads the marketing strategy for the company. Lissa previously managed AppDirect’s Connected Vehicles Practice where she worked with OEMs, Tier 1s and technology providers. As a Silicon Valley executive, she built her broad experience in SaaS-based products, mobility services, and connected cars and fleets. Lissa is also part of the executive team of the Connected Vehicle Trade Association.

Marco Laumanns brings significant industry and research expertise in public transportation and optimization. At BestMile, he is building and managing an interdisciplinary team of highly skilled transportation researchers, data scientists, and algorithm engineers. Previously as Project Leader for Transportation and Operations Research at IBM Research, Marco was globally responsible for public transport activities across IBM’s worldwide labs. He is a regular adviser to major public transport operators and governments to provide thought leadership on future mobility issues including new service designs and automation of planning and operations.

“Lissa and Marco bring to BestMile a wealth of experience in transportation and mobility services. These positions add to the expertise of the executive team, including the hire of CTO Zhao Lu earlier this year,” said Raphael Gindrat, CEO and co-founder of BestMile. “They will be major drivers of the company’s next phase of growth as we continue to innovate around the world.”

BestMile will be at ITS World Congress in Montreal, October 30th to November 2nd. Raphael Gindrat, BestMile’s CEO, will also give a presentation during the Session “Reinventing Public Transport with Smart Shuttles”
