Drone technology startup Verity has signed a contract with Maersk North America to deliver drones for warehouse inventory management. Organisations in France in Graubünden have also purchased cleantech solutions from Clean Greans and DHP Technologies to promote sustainable greenhouse and renewable energy production.

Verity’s warehouse drones navigate from pallet to pallet, collecting accurate inventory data in three dimensions by scanning barcodes at any height using onboard, highresolution cameras. The system requires one day of operator training, and the electric-powered drones return to the battery charging pad when necessary, operating on nights or weekends and without overhead lighting turned on. The drones take photos of SKUs on pallets to identify inventory errors, such as missing or misplaced pallets. Once the data is collected, the system compares the findings with data stored in the warehouse management system (WMS) and then distills that information into critical insights delivered directly to users via the user dashboard. The results are cloud-based, shareable, and they provide actionable warehouse data that offers better analytics for supply chain leaders.

Verity will deliver its technology to A.P. Moller – Maersk, an integrated logistics company working to connect and simplify its customers’ supply chains. As a global leader in shipping services, the company operates in more than 130 countries and employs over 100,000 people worldwide. “We wanted to deploy a safer, more accurate, data-driven inventory solution that addressed our decarbonisation goals for customers and prevented our workforce from working at heights. Verity’s system has delivered data accuracy, safety and speed, which makes our warehouse management system stronger, faster and more effective for customer decision-making”, said Erez Agmoni,Senior Vice President of Innovation & Strategic Growth for Maersk North America. “We view the Verity solution as an important differentiator to make our customers more competitive through higher quality, faster inventory data, ” added Agmoni.

Clean Green’s customer stems from Frace
The Swiss startup and France-based Midiflore have signed a contract to install a 3,500 square metre aeroponic project using CleanGreens’ GREENOVA system. The project will begin at the end of the year to enable Midiflore to produce aromatic herbs locally and reduce imports. The project marks the next step in CleanGreens’ growth and a major milestone for Midiflore. Aeroponics, compared to hydroponics, uses less water, offers a wider range of varieties that can be grown, and brings a consistent quality of herbs. Additionally, the GREENOVA system allows for multiple harvests, increasing efficiency and profitability for Midiflore.

Foldable solar panels for Lenzerheide
The municipality of Vaz/Obervaz in Graubünden, holder of the Energy City label, has purchased the HORIZON solar folding roof for the sewage treatment plant, bringing the second folding solar roof in the high alpine region of Lenzerheide. The technology is a product of DHP Technologies, the Zizzers-based startup that develops, produces, and builds a unique and patented solar folding roof that enables the dual use of industrial space for solar power production. Already in use in areas such as wastewater treatment plants, parking and logistics areas, the newly installed solar panels at the Canius sewage treatment plant will allow for producing around 48% of its electricity requirements, on-site and renewable.
