The technology platform CareerFairy has obtained a convertible loan of over CHF 425,000 from members of the StartAngels Network and other Swiss business angels. The start-up which is already successful in the DACH region will also benefit from the expertise of its new board members to expand the platform to Europe and the USA.

Last year Thomas Schulz and Maximilian Voss, graduates of the ETH Zurich, launched CareerFairy, an interactive live streaming platform that enables companies to connect with students through university career services. Through the platform, students have the opportunity to connect and meet with their prospective team members to ask questions about their employers and the job. This not only allows them to get a glimpse into their future job, but it also allows them to initiate the first contact in the company.

The company has partnered with over 16 university career centres in the DACH region and over a hundred employers across the region are already actively leveraging the CareerFairy platform to remotely engage with top talents at some of the world’s leading universities. Among the employers are renowned companies such as CreditSuisse, ABB, Ernst and Young, Ferrari, AXA Winterthur, Bühler, BMW Group, Microsoft among others. Over the past 12 months, the company has completed some 200 live streams with over to 350 students from target universities.

In the coming years, the company plans to further enhance the platform with new interactive features and to expand its service to other European countries and the United States. As part of its seed round and to implement this strategic move, the company has secured funds in the form of a convertible loan, subscribed by some members of the StartAngels Network and other Swiss business angels.

CareerFairy also counts on the wealth of experience of its new board members to achieve its goals. The new members are Peter Pfister, former CFO of Adecco, Urs Ernst, former CFO of Bank Vontobel and Fabio Magagna, serial entrepreneur and product manager at Google Switzerland.

“We are pleased to have hired new talents to assist with our growth strategy,” said Thomas Schulz, CEO of CareerFairy. “The experience and know-how of the new board members will be extremely valuable in achieving our vision of becoming the number one digital platform for companies and students to connect – anytime, anywhere.”
