The national winners of the Climatelaunchpad Switzerland have been revealed; the cleantech solutions from Enerdrape and Ponera won the first and second respectively. The teams will travel to Amsterdam in November to compete for the global prize.

Three months after the ClimateLaunchpad Boot Camp, eight cleantech startup finalists in the 2019 edition of the Climate Launchpad competition convened for the National Final. Following their pitch, the jury identified three winners to further participate in the competition at a global level.

The first prize with to Margaux Peltier and Alessandro Rotta Loria founders of Enerdrape, a startup that aims to harvest energy from unused surfaces to provide renewable heating and cooling. Enerdrape is developing modular geothermal panels combined with a technology that facilitates for the first time installation of energy panels indoors in unconditioned environments such as parking garages. Enerdrape is currently undergoing development. As the first place holder, the team will receive a golden ticket to the Grand Final in Amsterdam in November and travel and accommodation as well as access to the Startup Academy Incubator Program for a year.

The second-place prize went to Masoud Talebi Amiri and Matthew Reali from Ponera. The team has designed a new sustainable, modular pallet configuration that aims to revolutionize the goods’ transport. Their pallet is a recyclable biopolymer-based pallet that is reusable and results in a significant decrease in fuel consumption. The two founders will likewise travel to the Grand Final in Amsterdam in November.

The startup Re-Company won third place and therewith has the chance to compete for a Wild Card to the Global Grand Final. Re-Company developed REBO a smart reusable, stainless-steel and durable bottle with a water tracking sensor. Thanks to a smart cap the company is able to measure the water intake (and plastic saving) of the user, send it to the REBO app, convert it through blockchain into a green credit. The company uses the proceeds to fund the collection of bottles littering the environment.
