Advanced Sport Instruments just announced that FieldWiz is the first wearable tracking device officially approved by FIFA. These are excellent news for the start-up who is preparing to launch a smaller and even better version of its tracker in the weeks to come.
Advanced Sport Instruments (ASI) is gaining momentum. After several months of intense testing, FieldWiz successfully passed the test and became the first approved wearable tracking device to officially meet FIFA’s International Match Standard (IMS) for Electronic Performance and Tracking System (EPTS).
Contacted by Startupticker.ch, ASI’s CEO Lionel Yersin is very proud of this achievement. As he explains, the FIFA approval comes at the best of times as his company is getting ready to launch this fall a smaller and even more advanced version of its high-tech sports tracker.
In the last months, the Lausanne based start-up has been gearing up. Advanced Sport Instruments raised this summer CHF 355’000.- from Business Angels. The company based in Vaud also obtained an "earlyloan" of CHF 300’000 from the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT) to reinforce its growth.
Founded in 2012 by Lionel Yersin, CEO, and joined in 2015 by Julien Moix, COO, ASI offers performance measurement and monitoring solutions for sport. FieldWiz, a solution dedicated to outdoor team sports, is now ASI's flagship product and its users include the Nigerian national football team, the Swiss Football Association, FC Zürich and Stade Rennais.
