Swiss Finance + Technology Association is organizing the first “Reverse Pitch”, a pitch event where investors pitch to start-ups. The main goal is to demystify the investors, to offer start-ups an important exposure and to educate Swiss entrepreneurs on how to approach investors.

In collaboration with Switzerland Global Enterprise, Commission for Technology And Innovation (CTI), and Technopark Zurich, the Swiss Finance and Technology Association (SFTA) is organising its first Reverse pitch event. This challenges the traditional pitching format by turning tables to put investors on stage. The main goals for this format is to demystify leading investors and to educate the local entrepreneurs on how to approach them, a more profound understanding of what the current investors’ needs are and how they differ among each other. The event will start with a keynote from Richard Olsen, cofounder of Oanda and the founder of the blockchain startup Lykke.

Business Angels, Venture Capitalists, and Corporate VCs from six renowned organisations with meaningful activity in Switzerland will go first and introduce their fund and why entrepreneurs should approach them, the opportunities they are currently looking for as well as the tips about how to pitch. The start-up panel will vote and rate the investor pitches.

The investors on stage are:

  1. 11.FS / Life.Sreda

  2. Axa Strategic Ventures

  3. Lakestar

  4. Orange Growth Capital Partners

  5. SICTIC Fintech Angels (SFA)

  6. Swisscom FinTech Venture Fund

Following the investors pitches, five fintech start-ups will have the opportunity to pitch to the investors. To give start-ups even more exposure, there is a longer list of investors corporate VCs, representatives and media attending the event.

The application deadline for fundraising start-ups who want to pitch has been extended to 25 September 2016. The five selected start-ups will be announced on September 29 and the rest will be invited to join the audience and profit from the keynotes, networking and all other packages the event has to offer. All Entrepreneurs have the possibility to apply for 1:1 meetings. To apply send an email to Julian Osborne.
