Uepaa! now saves lives across UK

Uepaa’s vision of making the outdoors safer using modern technologies is backed by its recognised partners Mammut, Rega (Switzerland’s leading Air Rescue operator) and Swisscom (Switzerland’s largest telecoms provider). Across the Alps 50,000 outdoor enthusiasts use Uepaa! and 45 million GPS points have been recorded, 12% of which are OffNet - proof the app is connecting the previously unconnected. Over 600 Emergency alarms have been raised, with professional rescue dispatched on several occasions.

The official UK launch will take place at the renowned UK & Irish Mountain Rescue Conference The Gathering (Aviemore 12-14th Sept) where UK rescue teams will be advised about the full services Uepaa offers, including its dedicated rescuer app that scans for casualties from the air and ground.

Uepaa has integrated a piece of multi-hop peer-to-peer (mesh) technology into an app which allows for “off the grid” communication between phones.
