Yesterday the ranking with the best Swiss start-ups was published. Apart from the Top Ten companies the newcomers and youngest companies are particularly interesting. Both categories show how vibrant and diverse the Swiss start-up scene is.

Yesterday the ranking of the best 100 Swiss start-ups was published. Together with the list separate rankings for industries and other categories were compiled. You will find for example lists with the best clean-tech start-ups or the best young internet companies.

Particularly interesting are the two rankings with the youngest companies and with the best newcomers, i.e. those start-ups that were selected for the Top 100 for the first time.

The best Newcomer in the list is On (18th). On is a good example showing how broad the Swiss start-up scene is. On is neither a life science nor an IT company – the start-up produces running shoes. Cloudracer combines speed with superior impact protection. Cloud technology is the first cushioning system that is only active during the landing and then becomes firm for a stable take-off. Its multiple featured elements enable short ground contact and impact protection. Recreational joggers will have more fun with the shoes, top athletes can increase the training intensity.

In the ranking of the best newcomers of the Top 100 list On is followed by SamanTree (22nd, med-tech), Mila (25th, Internet), OneDropDiagnostics (26th, med-tech) and Codecheck (31st, Internet).

The youngest company in the list is Lunaphore. The company was officially founded in April 2014. Lunaphore is active in the field of “immunohistochemistry”, a technology allowing doctors to efficiently predict oncogenesis and diagnose a cancer as benign or malignant, determine the stage and the grade of a cancer. Tens of millions of such examinations held annually and until 2019, the number is expected to double. The device of Lunaphore is significantly faster, more accurate and smaller than today's products. Lunaphore has already a working prototype and completed preliminary clinical studies successfully.

In the ranking of the youngest companies Lunaphore is followed by Codecheck (31st, Internet), Bluebox Shop / Amorana (77th, Internet), Scantrust (51st, ICT) and imperix (78th, clean-tech).
