Red Herring Top 100 Global Winners include Swiss companies

Following the revision of thousands of applications from privately held companies and outstanding entrepreneurs from the regional competitions in Europe, North America, and Asia, the Red Herring Global editorial committee has nominated the Top 100 most outstanding companies.

The selection team evaluated the companies on quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. Additionally, the team reviewed the candidates’ track records and the current state of startups relative to their peers. The Red Herring award is thus a valuable instrument presenting the most promising new business models worldwide.

This year’s Top 100 list includes three Swiss startups:

CollectID from St. Gallen developed a near-field communication (NFC) tracking, blockchain, and NFT technology to ensure product authenticity. It offers an NFC- tag to embed in any product to fight counterfeits. Its vinID-tag enables wineries to ensure each product has its own unique and dynamically encrypted ID. The company has already won multiple customers worldwide, including numerous football clubs that use technology in their merchandise and fashion brands such as shoe and handbag makers. End users also interact with the products using an application for an immersive phygital world experience.

Prodaft developed U.S.T.A., one of the first-ever cyber threat intelligence platforms that protects clients from major cyber-attacks through timely and verified intelligence. Featuring a synergy of threat intelligence, fraud intelligence, and brand protection modules, U.S.T.A. responds directly and effectively to complex cyber threats. The Yverdon-les-Bains-based startup also developing a new product (SDK) to detect fraud activities on mobile phones following the request of one of its existing retail banking clients. The SDK is currently running on top of more than 10 million devices.

Digital health startup dacadoo partners with insurers and corporate health service providers to bring its technology solutions for digital health engagement and health risk quantification to the market. Its solution, 'digital Health Engagement Platform' (DHEP) motivates users to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyle habits. The tool combines a patented dacadoo Health Score with automated coaching to guide users towards improving their health and well-being. Insurers and companies worldwide rely on dacadoo.
