Eleven startups will present their solutions at the upcoming swisstech.Pitchinar 2020 - Solutions for Society 5.0 on 22 October. The event offers a platform to showcase Swiss excellence and innovation to the Japanese audience.

Following the success of the first ‘swissstech.Pitchinar’ format at CES Asia, the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan and its partners have organised the second edition within the framework of CREATECH Japan 2020, Japan’s largest IT and electronics trade show for showcasing latest technologies. The pitchinar aims at promoting Swiss innovation and excellence to an audience consisting of Japanese venture capital investors, major technology companies, business persons responsible for open innovation and distributors.

Focusing on Solutions for Society 5.0, eleven startups from Switzerland will join the event and present their solutions in three categories: Smart Cities, Smart Health and Humans & Machines.

The participating startups are:

Category 1: Smart Cities

Securaxis – with SONAL the startup combines Acoustic with advanced Artificial Intelligence and data science to monitor and analyse specific sounds in any environment, classify them, locate and report them accurately.

Meteoblue - developed several tools to assess the best sensor locations within a city and in the surrounding areas for installing meteorological sensor networks.

YASAI – offers Vertical Farming as a Service based on a circular economy for Smart Cities. We aim to create local & circular food systems for the health & well-being of people, plants & planet.

Global ID – developed a biometric identification system based on the 3D fingervein biometric identification that cannot be replicated, with a guarantee of privacy.

Category 2: Smart Health

Urodea – is developing a patent-pending technology world’s first non-invasive solution for urinary retention.

Hi-D Imaging – develops the world’s first AI-based pre-operational planning tool which enables physicians to perform personalised planning and allows to improve patients’ quality of life after the cardiac operations.

Surgeons Lab – aims to aim to facilitate test, train, plan interventions and ultimately improve patient safety using high-end technology as an alternative to human and animal models.

Category 3: Humans & Machines

WayRay – is specialised in holographic AR solutions for the automotive industry and beyond. The core advantages of its products include their broad field of view, their compactness and the comfortable distance at which virtual images are projected.

AVAtronics – develops High Performance, Wideband Active Noise Cancellation technology for Consumer Electronics and Transport Industries.

Animatico – aims to revolutionise human-machine interactions by developing human-like avatars which listen and read to the people in front of the screen in particular areas such as interactive kiosks in retail, hospitality, smart cities.

Scandit – is the leading enterprise mobility and data capture company, specializing in barcode scanning solutions that transform business processes across industries including healthcare, logistics, manufacturing and retail.

Free participation
The swisstech.Pitchinar 2020 - Solutions for Society 5.0 will take place on 22 October from 16:00 to 17:30 JST/09:00 to 10:30 CET. Participation is open and free of charge for all startups and participants who are interested in learning more about the startups.
