In presence of the American Ambassador Edward McMullen, DAC System SA has announced the signing of a contract for several million dollars with Dielectric Inc., a leading American company in the production of radio and television antennas. The ceremony took place at Tecnopolo Ticino in Manno where DAC System is based since 2015.

In response to a clear need in the TV and Radio market, DAC System has developed the only existing monitoring system for large transmission towers within the broadcasting world. The system is able to detect in real-time the status of the signal quality of towers - towers up to 500 meters high - in order to help broadcasters to prevent failures. These are often catastrophic, causing enormous costs and safety risks. The monitoring solution thus provides the possibility to save time and money in maintenance and repair while guaranteeing the safety of the towers.

The company develops, manufactures and markets its products in different parts of the world, in particular it has strong collaborations with operators in the US market. The monitoring systems are installed for example on the Freedom Tower in New York and major towers of San Francisco and Chicago. DAC System is evaluating the opening of a branch in the United States. Apart from the US the Ticino-based company has installation all over the world including cities such as Toronto, Berlin, Milan, Shenzen, Manila and London.

The contract with Dielectric Inc., a company of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, listed on NASDAQ and number one in the TV field within the United States of America, provides for a technological partnership agreement for the entire North American market. Starting in 2020 it includes the exclusive distribution of a patented monitoring system called RFHAWKEYE which is based on the same technology used in nuclear particle accelerators. The contract, with a duration of five years, will guarantee DAC System the opportunity to grow and establish an important presence in the US market.

Born in 2013 from the idea of Pietro Casati, its CEO, DAC System entered in 2015 as a tenant of Tecnopolo Ticino and today it is already considered an advanced stage startup. DAC System, starting with the support of the USI Start-UP Promotion Center, participated in programs for startups (Innosuisse) obtaining the CTI Label, then benefited from a non-repayable contribution from the Canton of Ticino thanks to the cantonal Innovation Law. In 2019, it also closed an important investment round in which TiVenture participated.

During the press conference, Stefano Rizzi, Director of the Economy Division of the Canton of Ticino, has expressed great satisfaction with the signed agreement, which carries the name of the Canton of Ticino into the world.

For Luca Bolzani, President of the Agire Foundation, the growth of DAC System represents the success of the synergies that have been created within the Regional Innovation System. According to him it is not a coincidence that the promoters of DAC System met Ambassador McMullen for the first time during a visit organized last year by Agire Foundation at his Technopole.
