Swiss Startup Group and High-Tech Gründerfonds to co-invest in startups

Following their first co-investment Eyeware, the Swiss Startup Group (SSUG) and the German-based High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) have sealed a partnership to co-invest in European early-stage startups. HTGF has €895.5 million in total investment volume across three funds and an international network of partners.

The SSUG keeps expanding the platform on an international level and continues its global strategy to partner with best in class organizations in Europe, Israel, the US and China. Today, the SSUG has announced its partnership with the HTGF, a German-based seed Venture capital firm that finances high-potential, tech-driven startups. With EUR 895.5 million in total investment volume across three funds and an international network of partners, HTGF has already helped forge more than 550 startups since 2005. HTGF’s focus is on high-tech Startups in a range of sectors, including software, media, internet, hardware, automation, health care, chemistry and life sciences.

Early this year, the two parties contributed to the investment round of the Martigny based Startup Eyeware, marking the first steps of their joint investments. The newly formed partnership will thus allow for further co-invest in Swiss and German early-stage Startups.  

Axel Nitsch, Senior Investment Manager High-Tech Gründerfonds, adds: “With our first joint investment in Switzerland this year in Eyeware, we set the basis for a successful partnership. We want to focus more on Swiss investments and the Swiss Startup Group with its independency and strong entrepreneurial approach is a very good match”.

Inaugurating the Swiss Startup Capital
Three months ago the SSUG announced the foundation of its venture asset management division, the Swiss Startup Capital AG (SSUC). With its offering, the SSUC advises private venture investors, family offices, banks and corporate clients on their direct and indirect venture investments.
