eCarUp creates a charging station sharing community. With their solution, the startup has convinced the jury of GENIUS, Germany´s New Mobility & Connectivity Award, winning itself the category award connecting people. In addition, the Swiss startup made it to the finals of the New Energy Challenge organized by Shell Ventures, YES!Delft and Rockstart.
Germany´s New Mobility & Connectivity Award identifies and recognizes the most promising solutions in the mobility sector. The initiators, the Handelsblatt, zet:project and the VW Financial Services joined hands to provide valuable information and accelerate ideas of participants.
The Genius Award offers startups an ideal platform to present their solutions to potential customers, investors and the audience at large. Additionally, the program gives them access to its network comprising of members from politics, business, science and the media.
This year, the Swiss startup eCarUp won the category award, «Connecting people». eCarup developed an app that allows private charging station owners to share his charging station to the community. This allows them to optimize the utilization of their charging stations and reduce fixed costs. Drivers on the other hand, gain access to a growing network of charging points, even outside conurbations, at fair prices and without subscription costs.
In addition eCarUp made it to the finals of the New Energy Challenge and joined the finals week in Amsterdam. The Energy Challenge offers multiple paths to benefit start-ups including direct entry to custom made start-up programs and a chance to pitch before the Shell Ventures investment committee.
