Fintech Awards

Application for the 2018 Swiss Fintech Award will close on 3 November. Since the launch the competition got more and more attractive for start-ups.

Swiss FinTech Awards recognise outstanding Swiss based fintech start-ups and influencers. Also next year, two start-up categories will be awarded: Early Stage Start-up of the Year – for fintech start-ups that are either below two years of age or have fewer than CHF 2.5 million in funding, and Growth Stage Start-up of the Year – for start-ups either older than two years or having more than CHF 2.5 million in funding. All FinTech solutions with a Swiss connection are eligible. This can include, for example Swiss founders (active in Switzerland and/or abroad) or organisations with a Swiss head office. In addition to the two categories, jury members will nominate an outstanding personality or organization that have advanced the Swiss fintech ecosystem. The winner will be honoured as the “FinTech Influencer of the Year”.

This year the prizes became even more attractive. The early stage start-up of the year will win at CHF32’000. As the organizers are still speaking to potential new sponsors the amount might increase. In addition the five finalists have the opportunity to present their product to a major Swiss bank which can select finalists for POCs. Finalists will also have an easier access to the finals of the venture leaders fintech competition.

As last year the Swiss FinTech Awards finalists have the opportunity to participate in a speed dating event with all jury members and members of the awards supporters club and will participate in Accenture’s boot camp scheduled to take place in the middle of January 2018 and will be invited to pitch to the audience at the Finanz und Wirtschaft Forum. Finalists will also travel to Accenture’s FinTech innovation Lab in London.

Registration closes on 3 November 2017. The winner will be announced during the Swiss FinTech Awards Night on 15 March. More information on the website of the Awards.
