First summit for Female Founders

WomenWay is organizing the first Female Founder Summit in Kunsthaus Zurich on 2nd November. Female founders will have the opportunity to present before investors, network and get inspired by experts.

In collaboration with the Swiss Startup Factory, WomenWay – a business network for female entrepreneurs, executives and board members – is organizing the first Female Founder Summit to bring female founders and investors together with the aim of empowering female founders and to bring Switzerland to a higher position on the map of Europe when it comes to good dealflow.

“We want to highlight the role of women in the start-up ecosystem and show the innovative cases to a greater public, and also discuss how we can improve the Swiss start-up ecosystem in relation to what is happening in the US, Europe, and Asia” says Carole Hofman, founder and president of WomenWay.

Twelve female founders will have an opportunity to present their ideas to investors while showcasing their achievements. They will receive pithing training in the morning from Mike Baur, CEO, Swiss Start-up Factory and Lina Bee, Head of Corporate Venturing & University Relations, Swiss Start-up Factory. This will be followed by a three-hour pitching session with Lina Bee. Registration to participate in this session is required: founder@femalefoundersummit.org.

The Summit will officially begin at 5pm with over 200 participants including; at least 50 percent Female founders, founders from Switzerland, Europe and Africa, Startup Support Organizations, investors from Switzerland, Europe and the U.S, Corporate Venturing Representatives, Government Representatives and media.

During this period, Rosana Wong, a women entrepreneur from Hong Kong whose company is responsible for approximately one third of the public housing in the country. She will talk about her Green City approach. There will also be a panel discussion led by Ilona Simpson of Ariadne Capital and Eric Sieber of Inventages (Nestlé's VC Fund). The panel will discuss about the start-up landscape and what technologies will be shaping our future. Other confirmed speakers include; Ari Horie, Founder & CEO Women's Startup Lab in Silicon Valley – as  the Keynote speaker, Patrizia Pesenti, Board Member Ringier and Digital Switzerland 2025, Anat Bar-Gera, Chairwoman Cyverse and Lina Bee, Head of Corporate Venturing & University Relations Swiss Start-up Factory.
