Ten startups proceed to the finals of the ConTech Award

The jury of the first Contech award has selected ten startups to present their business ideas and products at the upcoming Swissbau 2020 in Basel. An equal number of startups will contest in two competition categories: Planning and Building.

The first Contech competition initiated by Swiss Proptech will recognise startups that are developing solutions to transform the construction industry. The competition takes place within the framework of the Swiss Bau trade fair. A jury comprising of five industry experts nominated and revealed the ten contenders of the award. These are:

Category «Planning»

Abstract (Basel) – through its solution, the startup aims to empower owners, architects, engineers and construction professionals to leverage the power of simulations.

Aestico (Zurich) – a digital tool to enable planners and craftsmen to work together to deliver construction projects faster.

Digital Engineering Solutions (Poland) – in cooperation with ATKINS, DES developed a mobile app for asset condition survey that allows displacement and stress measurement.

Regen Villages (Netherlands) – regenerative and resilient neighbours with IoT-integrated infrastructure that fosters renewable energy, water management, and waste-to-resource systems.

Ped 4 BIM (Zurich) – a specialized software adapted to the Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow to facilitate efficient People Simulation and Analytics for digital planning and construction.

Category «Building»

Atome (Geneva) – combines architectural and engineering experience to build sustainable houses (see photo)

Capmo (Germany) – intuitive software for a modern and time-saving execution of construction projects.

FenX (Zurich) – transforms mineral waste into high-performance and sustainable insulation for the building industry.

Mobbot (Freiburg) – developed a 3D concrete printing head coupled to a platform that allows for the production of durable concrete components in less than ten minutes.

Voliro (Zurich) - develops the next generation of autonomous flying robots, an omnidirectional platform with the unique capability to approach, touch, and interact.

During the SwissBau trade fair on 15th and 16th January 2020, the selected startups will pitch their innovations to the jury and audience. The winner in each category will be determined by the trade fair audience.
