New York One World Trade Center

Last year, DAC system’s antenna monitoring system was installed on the One World Trade Center, one of the world's tallest buildings. The infrastructure serves 12 million people in New York City and the surrounding region with TV signals for many channels including Fox, CBS and NBC. With the great reference of the One WTC and orders from well-known customers, the start-ip aims to capture a big market share in the US.

DAC Systems develops, produces and commercializes specific monitoring and control Solution for Radio Frequency (RF)-Systems. With their solution, the company can monitor the power and the quality of the signals, up in the very high towers, where the signals are radiated with up to 160kW. The System is modular, scalable and can be used for small to big installations in both indoors and outdoors.

The DAC monitoring system enables operators to detect any malfunctions earlier to ensure for service availability, increase safety and protection of the infrastructure, to record Service Level Agreements (SLA) parameters and to reduce maintenance and operation costs by up to 50%. These among other advantages have enabled DAC System to thrive.

Last year the DAC System' technology was deployed on the new One World Trade Center (WTC) to measure with 104 outdoor sensors and 46 indoor monitoring points the quality of the broadcast signals. The infrastructure on the building serves 12 million people in New York City region with TV signals for many channels like Fox, CBS, NBC.

After the first installation in the US for the WTC and San Diego, installations in Los Angeles and Hartford/Connecticut will follow in December 2018. The startup also received orders to equip 20 towers across the US from NBC, Quincy Media and American Tower Inc.

To support installations and customers in the US, DAC System has entered into a partnership with Suitelife System. Suitelife helps in operative tasks and maintenace, acting as point of contact for DAC System. Pietro Casati, CEO of DAC System said, “We are excited about the opportunities to expand into the USA market, especially given Suitelife Systems considerable installation base with major US Broadcasters. This partnership represents yet another step in seamlessly integrating Outdoor and Indoor RF-System Monitoring into the operation chain of broadcasters, which increases safety, allows early detection of system degradation, and dramatically lowers maintenance costs.”

Great opportunity

The US is currently in preparation for the “Repack”, a project that aims to bring a new television spectrum repacking (reallocation) operation. With the ongoing project, Christain Brand, CEO of DAC System sees a great opportunity for his company. “The Repark project is currently opening a large market opportunity for us. More than 1000 TV stations are being rebuilt. With the great reference of the One WTC and orders from well-known customers such as NBC, CBS, Quincy, we are ready to capture a big market share”.

Beyond the US, DAC System’s European market is also flourishing. In Italy, the major tower operator RaiWay equipped eight new FM systems with the DAC Monitoring. The company installed its solution in Germany for a major private Radio Channel in Stuttgart and Langenburg, carried out by its OEM partner, Kathrein.
