Four companies awarded with CTI Start-up Label

42matters, Léman Micro Devices, Sophia Genetics and unblu have been awarded with the CTI Start-up Label after passing the CTI coaching process and pitching to the Label Certification Board composed of seasoned entrepreneurs and experts.

The four companies awarded with the CTI Start-up Label have one thing in common: IT is an important part of their business. However the domains in which IT is used by the young companies are very diverse.

The flagship product of the ETH spin-off 42matters is called Playboard. It provides an overview of the mass of apps for mobile devices. Playboard offers thousands of curated lists by an active community and boasts state-of-the-art recommendation algorithms to discover the best apps. The start-up offers Playboard to consumers but also licenses the product, as a white-label solution, to customers like ProSieben Games, a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1.

Léman Micro Devices is developing an inexpensive, miniature sensor module that can be integrated into conventional smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. The start-up plans to provide cloud-based services for the data transfer of measured values to healthcare providers, clinics and research institutions. In July Zühlke Ventures and Start Angels Network lead Series A investment in Léman Micro Devices.

Sophia Genetics SA is a Swiss company expert in medical bioinformatics. Sophia Genetics offers health professionals who perform clinical genetic testing an Integrated Clinical Dry Lab Service supporting the bioinformatic analysis, quality assurance, visualisation and banking of patient DNA sequence data generated by Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). Sophia Genetics helps clinical laboratories to reduce the cost, overcome complexity and fulfil quality constraints related to the use of NGS in the clinic.

Unblu inc. provides web customer collaboration software with a vision to bring personal online guidance and interaction to every website. Hundreds of organizations are already using unblu´s co-browsing solutions. Among the customers are companies such as Helsana, Mettler Toledo, BSkyB or UBS. A few days ago Gartner Inc., the world´s leading IT research firm, recognized the importance of co-browsing and has listed unblu as a key vendor in this space

The CTI Start-up Label is a certificate of quality, sustainability, and credibility for investors, and favors successful market entry. Companies can apply for the label at the end of Phase III of the CTI coaching process. More information on the website of CTI Start-up.
