The European Tech Tour Association (ETT) today announced the name of companies selected to present at the second edition of the Cloud & Big Data Summit that will be taking place at the Lausanne Palace and the EPFL Rolex learning center today and tomorrow. Three Swiss start-ups were selected.

In line with the European Tech Tour Association’s constant strive to identify and promote the most talented technology entrepreneurs, this year’s high-end selection committee has identified 25 Cloud & Big Data companies from an initial array of 250+ companies. The selected companies which range from seed to Pre-IPO stage includes three start-ups from Switzerland:

CloudSigma, founded in 2009, is an innovative Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider based in Zurich, Switzerland. CloudSigma was founded to meet the growing need for a pure IaaS that places little or no restrictions on how its users deploy their computing resources.

KeyLemon is a software company which offers simple, fast and convenient computer access solutions, based on face and speech recognition, for all Internet users with a webcam. The company was founded in 2008 and is based in Martigny.

LakeMind offers software that makes cloud services more reliable. When cloud services are down, identifying the cause of the problem along the service provisioning chain can be difficult. By automating this task, LakeMind drastically decreases the duration of service outages, and enables cloud service providers to reduce risks and avoid legal disputes. Lakemind is a project of EPFL researchers. The company is still to be founded.

The Tech Tour Cloud and Big Data Summit offers the CEOs of the selected companies an opportunity to expose their business views and strategies to an audience of venture capitalists, corporate investors and technology industry leaders. Top blue chip executives will also be present to share with participants case studies illustrating how Cloud & Big Data is changing business paradigms.

Pascal Eichenberger, President of the Tech Tour Cloud & Big Data Summit 2012 explains “Big data is transforming economic perspectives for corporates by turning information -or data- into bottom line revenue. In 2012, the overall worldwide market for Cloud services across all segments grew by nearly 16% to €85 billion and it is expected to reach more than €160 billion by 2016; the European Tech Tour Cloud and Big Data Summit is an ideal platform to observe the European portion of this market providing corporates with a high quality selection of international start-ups and offering a variety of Cloud solutions capable of stimulating corporate growth.”

European Tech Tour Association (ETT) was founded in Geneva in 1998 in response to the growing interest in emerging technology companies in various European regions. ETT is an independent, not-for-profit organization composed of key contributors to the high-technology industry.
