High-profile events
Dear reader
Over the last 10 years, CTI Invest’s CEO Day has established itself as a meeting place for the Swiss innovation scene. Although participation will for the first time carry a cost, tickets for the event, which takes place on 22 October in Bern, are much sought-after. Anyone who does not want to miss this opportunity should hurry.
The CTI Medtech Event takes place on 2 September and the registration period runs until next Thursday.
Also in September, on the 10th, a SECA evening event will be held on the highly topical subject of intellectual property and start-ups. Startupticker has five discounted tickets to give away for this event – on a first come, first served basis.
From a look forward to a look back: financial advisor MoneyPark announced the participation of the Tamedia group. It was not the only round of funding announced in the last week: medtech company Aeon Scientific attracted CHF4.3 million from investors, and the consumer information portal Codecheck more than CHF1 million.
Finally, an interesting message from the Functional Materials Laboratory at ETH Zurich: researchers have developed a new water filter. A crowdfunding campaign on the American platform Indiegogo raised $40,000 within two weeks.
And speaking of the US, this week the winners of the Swisscom Startup Challenge were announced. The bosses of the five young IT companies will be travelling to Silicon Valley for a week of training on 12 October.
Have a good weekend.
