Based on their 3D-Concrete printing technology, Mobbot has already delivered 40 concrete products to clients for underground infrastructures; all produced over a single day. The startup has concluded its seed round to accelerate market expansion.

Mobbot offers the first robotic and automation platform to print concrete infrastructure directly at the final location. Utility infrastructure products such as cable chambers, retaining walls and beams can be produced up to twenty times faster and forty percent cheaper than with traditional fabrication methods. This approach also contributes to reducing material waste and CO2 emissions by up to thirty percent.

The Fribourg based startup has today announced the completion of its seed round with CHF 2.9 million from Mutschler Ventures, investiere, Swiss Immo Lab, Capital Risque Fribourg, NEST Pension Fund and business angels.

The funds will enable Mobbot to accelerate the development and commercialization of its patented mobile robot for 3D-concrete printing, to support R&D and continuous product innovations, as well as to strengthen the marketing and sales organization.

Sylvie Mutschler and Vincent Bieri joining the Board

With this financing round, the company is also announcing two appointments to its board of directors, Sylvie Mutschler, Investor Director and President of Mutschler Venture and Vincent Bieri, Co-founder of Nexthink, technologist and startup advisor. “I am thrilled that both Sylvie and Vincent will contribute their impressive experience and success in scaling up new technologies and businesses”, said Agnès Petit, Mobbot CEO and Founder.

“Mobbot is led by a very dedicated team and a female founder whose eyes are sparkling when she talks about her products. We are excited to be invested from an early stage to support Mobbot growth both nationally and internationally”, said Sylvie Mutschler, Owner and President of the Mutschler Immobilien AG and of Mutschler Ventures.

Annoying delays and cost overruns at construction sites are a thing of the past. Mobbot already delivered 40 concrete products to clients for underground infrastructures, all produced over a single day. With classic approaches, it takes three to five days to construct such custom formwork. “No market need is the number one reason why startups fail. I am very excited to join the Board of an innovative company with proven acceptance of its value for customers and equipped to go full speed in the years to come”, said Vincent Bieri, Board Director at Mobbot.
