The platform careerlunch.com matches job seekers with employees and brings them together for informal lunch meetings. Among CareerLunch’s early customers are already dozens of well-known multi-national companies, such as Accenture and PwC. The funds will be used to strengthen its position in the DACH region and enter new markets in Europe.

Traditional recruitment makes it challenging to assess a candidate’s cultural fit or give prospective hires much insight into their possible future work and colleagues. Co-founders Simon Hofer and Konstantin Nesterov built CareerLunch to pair potential hires and employers for informal lunch meetings and give both sides more authentic opportunities to get to know each other. Talents get to know companies and their culture more authentically while employers establish personal connections to high potential candidates and grow their talent pool.

What used to be a slow-moving corporate technology space a decade ago is now a $148 billion market of HR cloud solutions to address the needs for the future of work. CareerLunch taps into that market by helping employers find, attract and retain the best talent.

Experienced business angels joined the round

Wingman Ventures led the round. Further investors include Joachim Schoss (Founder of Scout24 AG) and David Studer (Founder of Xovis AG). The new board is composed of Joachim Schoss, Lukas Weder (Wingman Ventures), Ronald Zemp (Founder of notime AG) and the two co-founders. “The new investor network and funds will boost us on our journey to become the career matchmaker of choice for talents and employers on a global scale”, said Simon Hofer, CEO and co-founder.

CareerLunch was founded in 2019 out of university by Simon Hofer (University of St. Gallen) and Konstantin Nesterov (ETH Zurich). The two co-founders met each other by exchanging ideas on a student group on Facebook. The inspiration for CareerLunch came from their own frustration with traditional ways of recruitment for which they wanted to offer a better alternative to talents and employers.
