Board members with a wealth of experience for startups and SICTIC

Whether it is business or Information technology, the recently appointed board members at the Startups Loanboox and Gravity, and the Business Angel firm SICTIC, bring at least 20 years of experience. In their new roles, they will support the companies in reaching their strategic goals.

Swiss Fintech AG which operates the debt capital market platform Loanboox has elected Felix R. Ehrat to the Board of Directors. For 25 years, Ehrat worked as a lawyer and had additional roles in the law firm Bär & Karrer AG and was president and member of the advisory board of various companies in the financial, consumer goods and industrial sectors as well as in executive committees of important economic associations such as Economiesuisse and SwissHoldings. Until 2018, he was a member of the Executive Committee and Group General Counsel of Novartis. Today, he holds directorships and advisory mandates in various renowned companies and organisations including Geberit, Globalance Bank, Accenture, Locarno Film Festival. He also lectures at the University of St. Gallen and provides consulting services.

Gravity Global brings two members on board: an Advertising and IT savvy
The Swiss software startup Gravity Global develops and operates an onboarding software which is currently being used by large organisations. With the appointment of advertising expert Curdin Janett and the long-standing CTO of UBS and CS Stephan Murer, the company has won two experts in the fields of marketing, financing and business development. Curdin was the CEO of McCann Erickson before taking over as Managing Director at Publicis, where he was responsible for the rebranding of Orange to Salt which earned him the title "Advertiser of the Year 2015". He holds various board mandates with agencies and is the founder of Fromage Mauerhofer AG, a Swiss cheese cellar.

Stephan Murer attained his degree in computer science from the ETH Zurich and holds a doctorate in computer architectures. After two years at the International Computer Science Institute of the University of California at Berkeley, he entered the private sector working at Credit Suisse for almost 20 years as Chief Architect and Managing Director. In 2013 he moved to UBS, where he served as Group Chief Technology Officer until 2017. Today, Stephan Murer via his consulting firm Murer Consulting GmbH has various mandates in consulting, business development and training.

SICTIC welcomes two a Swiss-US lawyer and a seasoned angel investor to the board
During the General Assembly, the Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC) appointed Michel Kertai and Thomas Billeter to the board of directors. Kertai is a registered attorney in Switzerland and the USA (California), who started his career as a corporate lawyer. He moved to California in 2015 to study U.S. law at UC Berkeley School of Law and work with Silicon Valley startups. After returning to Switzerland in late 2016, he founded EMBARK.LAW to fully dedicate to his favourite subject areas: startup law and cross-border activities of expanding businesses. He is also active as an angel investor.

Thomas Billeter holds a PhD in economics from the University of Zurich and a Master of Science Degree in Electrotechnical Engineering from ETH Zurich. He started his career as an engineer with IBM and then set up and managed a data communications business for Ascom. Billeter spent six years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, helping clients to build technology-based businesses and to improve capabilities and performance of their IT functions. For 20 years he has been an active member of the Swiss startup ecosystem, where he has co-founded and invested in several companies. He is today an active board member, advisor, coach, and angel investor. His engagements include Zattoo, Squirro, Nomoko, Bitsaboutme, and Workspace2go.
