Ben Robinson, Thomas Hessler & Corine Blesi

Ben Robinson, the former Chief Strategy Officer at Temenos, has joined the Geneva-based startup Pangea while Thomas Hessler joins the Photonics startup Ligentec as a board member. Likewise, Corine Blesi has been appointed to the position of managing director of NZZ Konferenzen and the Swiss Economic Forum.

Experienced individuals not only bring their know-how in a given business segment for the development of a startup, but they also act as a springboard for the startup’s growth and help to expand the startup’s network. With big plans on the table, two startups have welcomed new members to support them on in executing them.

From Temenos to Pangea
The Geneva-based, Pangea a growth platform, working with tech firms to help them scale faster and smarter has appointed Ben Robinson to lead its Strategy and Marketing Practice. Robinson joins Pangea from Temenos, a market-leading banking software provider where he held several leadership roles including Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Marketing Officer.

Pangea is a growth platform, working with tech firms in the fields of Life Sciences and Financial Services to support them in scaling faster and smarter. It works by providing the go-to-market resources its clients need to realize their growth. With strong momentum for its platform, Pangea plans to capitalize on this by providing a broader set of go-to-market services. Operating out of multiple locations including Germany, Switzerland, France, the UK and the US, Pangea believes that increasing its offering to encompass strategy and marketing will help it to grow faster but also better serve its clients who recognize the importance of a combined go-to-market approach. Robinson will support the startup in achieving these ambitions.

Ligentec to leverage Thomas Hessler’s experience in photonics
The Lausanne based Ligentec is a supplier of photonic integrated chips and chip-based components for customers in high-tech areas such as datacom, quantum technologies, space, LiDAR and sensing.

Aiming for to reach the next stage of growth, Ligentec has appointed Thomas Hessler as a new member to the Board of Directors. Hessler brings over 20 years of experience in executive management in the high-tech B2B environment, namely photonics and sensor. After obtaining his Ph.D. in applied optics, he started a corporate venture, leading to Axetris AG, and developed the company to a market leader for micro-optics, optical gas sensing components and specialty MEMS foundry services with applications in the automotive, medical, analytical and industrial space.

Besides his knowledge of the Swiss ecosystem and his worldwide connections to key market players, Hessler also understands the technology and its potential to open new market areas that still have to be developed. His experience will hence be a valuable asset for pushing Ligentec to the next stage of growth.

A female lead for the NZZ Konferenzen and SEF
On 1. August, Corine Blesi, Head of Client Management and Business Development and Deputy CEO of Facility Services at Investis Real Estate Group, will take on a new role as the managing director of the NZZ Konferenzen which includes the Swiss Economic Forum. Blesi will be responsible for the successful further development and management of the division. She will also continue to expand the conference business as an important strategic pillar of the NZZ Media Group. Corine Blesi takes over the management of the conference business from Dominik Isler.
