Aurora’s Grid and Groupe PSA, the French multinational manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles engage on a common to study EV cells ageing in 2nd life stationary usage. With EV cells playing a center role in the mobility of the future, this collaboration is an important new opportunity to showcase the expertise of the company founded by Dimitri Torregrossa.

Aurora’s Grid has just announced that it is engaging with French Group PSA a common study on EV cells ageing in 2nd life stationary usage. The companies target the deployment of aged lithium-ion cells from electrical vehicle during a second-life for increasing energy self-consumption in smart-building, which is a very good example of Circular Economy.

This collaboration is framed within the project “ExpSEBI, Experimental Evaluation of Second-Life of Lithium-ions cell for Smart-building/micro-grid” at Energy Institute co-chaired by Pr. Elena-Lavinia Niederhäuser and Jean-Philippe Bacher of the University of Applied Sciences (HEIA-FR) in Fribourg, Switzerland.

Contacted by Startupticker.ch, Dimitri Torregrossa, the CEO and founder of Aurora's Grid, is very satisfied with this new collaboration with the Group PSA. The French multinational produced last year 3.63 million cars, making it Europe’s second largest automaker. Interestingly, the company announced in April of this year the creation of a new EV division ahead of launching its first electric cars.
