Swiss and Turkey flags

The newly launched Swiss-Turkish startup program aims to connect the startup ecosystems and make Switzerland attractive to Turkish investors. Selected participants will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions during the Swiss days in Turkey, and a winner from each country will receive a cash prize along with in-kind offers.

The Swiss Business Hub in Turkey, in collaboration with Swiss Global Enterprise, has launched the first Swiss-Turkish program to act as a gateway for promoting Swiss export in Turkey. The program aims to connect both countries' startup landscapes, foster exchange of know-how and innovation, and open doors to relevant stakeholders in Turkey/Switzerland.

For the first selection round, the selection committee will nominate five startups from each country developing solutions that leverage Artificial Intelligence for the Automotive, Pharma, Energy &RenewableEnergy, Food, Textile and the Infrastructure & Construction industry. Following the first pitch session, the jury will choose the two most outstanding startups from both countries to showcase their solutions at the Swiss Days 2021 in Istanbul from the 20th to – 22nd of September. Held for the second time, Swiss Days offers a unique platform to promote Switzerland and Swiss companies, Swiss brands, technology, education, culture and more, allowing companies and institutions to promote themselves in the light of “Swissness” and the highly valued associations that come with it.

A winner from each country will be determined and awarded a cash prize of CHF 7500 within the framework of Swiss Days. They will also win a one-year membership to join the Swiss Global Enterprise, one year Silver sponsorship to SwissTurkish Chamber of Commerce in Turkey worth CHF 1500 and media coverage.

Eligible to apply are Swiss or Turkish based startups not older than 5 years as of January 1, 2021. Applicants must have a working prototype in the aforementioned industries with traction and should not have received or raised more than $500’000. Applications will be evaluated based on the criteria: level of innovation, the potential for globalisation, feasibility, business model, technical implementation and team competencies.

The submission window closes on 30th April.
