The Basel-based insurtech startup provides insurance companies with analytical insights and predictive models. The decision to join the incubator in Hartford, CT is related to Luminant Analytics first target market: the American auto insurance industry.

Luminant Analytics, founded in 2018 by Renu Ann Joseph, provides analytical insights and predictive models for insurance companies. These improve insurance pricing by including quantitative future predictions about key external trend changes instead of relying on internal historical loss data.

Now, the Basel-based startup has joined the Nassau Re/ Imagine incubator in – what is often referred to as the insurance capital of the world – Hartford, Connecticut. «Though we are a Swiss company, our first target market is the American auto insurance industry. We chose Hartford as our American base for a variety of reasons, including the large number of insurance and the growing insurtech support ecosystem here», explains Mrs. Joseph.

The incubator supports selected startups focused in the life insurance, annuity and reinsurance industries with complimentary office space and business development services. Nassau Re currently has combined assets of approximately $20 billion and capital of approximately $1.3 billion. Its business covers insurance, reinsurance, distribution and asset management through various affiliates.
