Legacy Healthcare, a Lausanne based biopharma developing innovative botanical drugs in supportive oncology care and dermatology, has attracted another top-class investor. Stassi Anastassov, a former Procter & Gamble top Executive, has invested in the Swiss company.

Legacy Healthcare’s pipeline is well filled. Its most advanced drug candidate, for Pediatric Alopecia Areata, is currently in Phase III clinical trials and should be the first drug approved for this condition worldwide. Other topical candidates, in Phase II, address chemotherapy induced alopecia, an unmet medical need, and female androgenetic alopecia. Legacy’s oral candidate for cancer related fatigue, which affect most cancer patients, has successfully completed a preclinical trial, performed and funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The second business pillar the company are science backed cosmetic products. The company has already a range of hair loss products on the market. These are currently marketed by Abbott, Galderma and Biolab in South-East Asia, India and Brazil.

The new funds will be used to accelerate the development of the drugs in the pipeline. Beyond the financial commitment, Stassi Anastassov will especially help leverage the company’ hair and skin care portfolio globally.

Stassi Anastassov has spent 30 years with Procter & Gamble, in Leadership and General management functions across the world, and covering key Procter and Gamble product categories including Beauty Care and Haircare.  Between 2010 and 2014 Mr Anastassov served as the Global CEO of the Duracell batteries business based in Connecticut, USA. Currently Mr Anastassov is working as Private Equity Advisor and is an Active Angel Investor in the Tech and Health Care sectors.

Legacy Healthcare has already announced a first investment in 2017 and is still actively raising additional funds to advance its unique late-stage, first in class, drug pipeline.
