Swiss Olympic capitalises on digital storytelling

Launched in 2016, Storyshaker is a single-tool platform that allows for publishing and distributing content on all digital channels. Now Swiss Olympic has joined the growing client base of Newsroom Communication.

Oftentimes digital communication and community managers are confronted with the problem of having one story but many publishing channels. Publishing and distributing own content on all digital channels involves a lot of tools, from the website CMS to the app system to a social media publishing tool.The startup Newsroom Communication also faced the same problem but could not find a suitable solution on the market. Driven by the desire to make publishing and distribution of stories more efficient to support their services, the three founders embarked on the journey to develop a single tool. They developed «Storyshaker».

In summer 2016 the new tool was launched as a Software as a Service (SaaS) to the public. «Storyshaker» connects self-generated cross-media content with posts from the social media community. It permits curated multi-channel publication on websites, apps, social media channels and big screens.

Since its launch, the startup has seen a constant customer increase with well-known clients such as the Swiss Economic Forum, BSC Young Boys, FDP, City of Bern, Messe Schweiz (MCH), VfB Stuttgart and the Swiss Marketing Forum.

Now, Storyshaker welcomes Swiss Olympic to its customer portfolio. Swiss Olympic and its sports associations were the first to use the «Storyshaker Content Network» Technology during a pilot for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Swiss Olympic holds the main «Storyshaker», while other associations such as Swiss Tennis or Swiss Sailing receive their own specific «Storyshakers», which are customized to the particular corporate design. Using the Content Network allowed Swiss Olympic to specifically publish content from the various sports associations in their main Swiss Olympic News section. It also provided them with a perfect tool to release general statements concerning all of the sport associations, since the edited story will be dropped in the «Storyshaker» draftrooms of every linked sport association.

After the successful pilot, Swiss Olympic decided to continue the collaboration and to introduce the «Swiss Olympic Content Network» to all Swiss sport associations.

«Swiss Olympic thus becomes a model customer for Newsroom Communication as it opens doors for further scaling» said Benjamin Blaser, startup Co-founder. The startup has already closed its seed round. «The next round will depend on the success of the platform», said Blaser.
