Swiss Startup Association will Startups eine Stimme geben

Die Schweizer Startup-Szene hat sich in den vergangenen 15 Jahren stark entwickelt. Jungunternehmen setzen Innovationen um, sorgen für eine ständige Erneuerung in den verschiedensten Branchen und schaffen Arbeitsplätze mit hoher Wertschöpfung. Sie sind damit zu einem gewichtigen Player in der Schweizer Wirtschaft geworden. Die Swiss Startup Association will nun diesem bedeutenden Teil der Schweizer Wirtschaft eine Stimme geben.

Der Verein der Schweizer Startups (SSA) hat zum offiziellen Start bereits über 90 Startup Mitglieder und die Mitgliederzahl wächst rasch weiter an. Der Vorstand setzt sich aus erfahrenen und bekannten Exponenten der Schweizer Startup Szene zusammen:

Urs Haeusler (Präsident), Nicolas Bürer (Vize Präsident), Jan Lichtenberg, Lea von Bidder, Hannes Gassert, Pascal Mathis, Karim Maizar and Michael Mosimann (alle Vorstandsmitglieder). Die Führung des Verbandes wird durch Mike Baur (Direktor), Max Meister (Stellvertretender Direktor) und Andrew Vallejo-Sanderson (Sekretär) sichergestellt.

„Als erster Schritt will die SSA herausfinden, wo den hiesigen Startups wirklich der Schuh drückt“, sagt Präsident Urs Haeusler. Dazu wird eine breit angelegte Umfrage durchgeführt, sowohl per Mail als auch auf der Webseite der Organisation.

Die Umfrage ist indes nur eine Aufgabe, die der Verband jetzt angeht. Das Arbeitsprogramm der SSA umfasst laut Urs Haeusler für die kommenden Monate mehrere Punkte:

• die Zahl der Startup-Mitglieder erhöhen,
• existierende Verbände einbinden,
• zum Thema Vermögensbesteuerung lobbyieren,
• die Finanzierung der SSA sicherstellen und
• ein Advisory Board mit Vertretern aus Politik und mit etablierten Vorzeigeunternehmern aufbauen.

Bereits jetzt geniesst die SSA Unterstützung aus Wirtschaft und Politik.

Marcel Dobler, Co-Founder Digitec & FDP Nationalrat: “Nur wer eine Stimme hat wird gehört! Es ist höchste Zeit für einen Verband für innovative und arbeitsplatzschaffende Startups in der Schweiz.”

Hans Hess, Präsident Swissmem: „Schweizer Startup Firmen sind in einer zunehmend dynamischeren und vielfältigen Wirtschaft ein essentieller Teil des Schweizer Innovationssystems. Sie verdienen die Aufmerksamkeit und Unterstützung, die ihnen heute bereits zuteil wird. Damit auch die weiteren Rahmenbedingungen für die Startup Firmen gestaltet werden können, ist es gut, dass sie eine gemeinsame Stimme erhalten.“

Valentin Vogt, Präsident Schweizerischer Arbeitgeberverband: „Der Produktivitätsfortschritt ist die wichtigste Triebkraft, damit die Schweiz weiterhin wirtschaftlich an der Spitze steht. In unserer dynamischen Welt braucht es dazu mehr denn je innovative Startup-Unternehmer.“

Die Mitgliedschaft bei der Swiss Startup Association ist für Startups kostenlos. Mitglied werden kann man auf der Webseite der Organisation. Dort findet sich auch der Link für die Umfrage zu den Herausforderungen für Schweizer Startups.

Official Launch of the Swiss Startup Association (SSA)

The Swiss Startup Association (SSA) was launched today to give Swiss Startups a strong voice in Switzerland and abroad, dedicated to championing and promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Swiss Startup Association counts already around 90 Startup members for its launch and is growing quickly. The board consists of well-known and experienced Swiss entrepreneurs who want to foster and develop a strong and sustainable Swiss startup ecosystem for the future:

Urs Haeusler (President), Nicolas Bürer (Vice President), Jan Lichtenberg, Lea von Bidder, Hannes Gassert, Pascal Mathis, Karim Maizar and Michael Mosimann. The business management of the SSA is taken over by Mike Baur (Director), Max Meister (Deputy) as well as Andrew Vallejo-Sanderson (Secretary).

“Startups are key drivers for innovation. In many industries they create more jobs than established companies. Switzerland’s startup ecosystem is growing and getting more and more professional. But there are still some important political and regulatory obstacles hindering Switzerland from becoming a more successful startup hub”, says SSA president Urs Haeusler. And continues about the launch of the new organization: “The SSA is right there to improve the framework and to support Swiss startups to become more successful”.

The SSA can already count on a strong support from various industries, entrepreneurs as well as economical associations:

Hans-Ulrich Bigler, Director Swiss Trade Association (Schweizerischer Gewerbeverband): “Startup companies are an indispensable part of the Swiss economy. They intensify the dynamics and competition in the market. With their creativity and innovation they make a significant contribution to the prosperity and welfare of Switzerland”.

Marcel Dobler, Co-Founder Digitec & National Councillor FDP: “Only those who have a strong voice will be heard! It’s high time for an association that speaks and stands up for innovative and job-creating Startups in Switzerland”.

Hans Hess, President of the Swissmem Association: “Swiss Startup companies are in an increasingly dynamic and diverse economy an essential part of the Swiss innovation system. They deserve the attention and support that is given to them already today. To make sure that the general regulations for Swiss Startups can be further shaped it’s important that they get a common voice”.

Valentin Vogt, President of the Swiss Employers' Association (Schweizerischer Arbeitgeberverband): “The productivity growth is the main driver, so that Switzerland will continue to be a worldwide leading economy. Therefore in our dynamic world, we need, more than ever, innovative Startup entrepreneurs.”

SSA stands up and speaks for

• a better legal, regulatory and tax environment for founders and startups in Switzerland
• a more startup friendly sense on the part of Switzerland’s authorities and regulators
• more social and political awareness of Switzerland’s startup ecosystem

Therefore SSA will team up with existing initiatives in the Swiss startup and innovation ecosystem and support them with the voice of the hundreds of Swiss startups, which have generated thousands of jobs in the last few years.

Over the next days, the SSA will send out to all Swiss startups a mailing with an online manifesto survey. With this the SSA wants to assure that the right topics and concerns of the startups are being addressed.
