The IoT / M2M Innovation World Cup took place for the third time. And as in the years before a Swiss start-up is overall winner. This time its qipp from Basel.

The 3rd IoT / M2M Innovation World Cup has already proven to be the leading IoT / M2M award worldwide. Contestants from 70 countries and hundreds of contestants demonstrate the huge innovation potential in the world of machine-to-machine communication and the Internet of Things.

„It was not an easy task for the jury to select the winners. All 24 finalists could have been one of the winners” says Gerhard Schedler, Head of Swisscom M2M. „As founding partner of the innovation program we are very pleased that we can showcase by the competition the many ways in which the Internet of Things and M2M solutions will positively influence our daily lives and working experiences in the future.”

We already reported about the category winners of the award. Two of them are from Switzerland: qipp and Sensile Technologies. qipp was also crowned as overall winner at the official award ceremony in Zurich last week. The international jury was convinced by the degree of innovation and the hit-off go-to-market concept of ALLTHINGS | HOME.

It was the third time that a Swiss start-up made it to the top. Last year everycook was awarded the prize. The year before it was Limmex. It seems that Swiss start-ups are really good in the Internet of Things domain.

On April 28th the 4th IoT / M2M Innovation World Cup will be kicked-off at the M2M Forum in Milan. The database will be open from 28th of April until November 15th 2015. The leading global innovation competition is welcoming revolutionary IoT / M2M solutions in the categories of Industry 4.0, Mobility, Energy, Security, Healthcare, and Connected Home. An international panel of industry experts will select the most innovative products according to criteria such as level of innovation, marketability, and usability. Submission phase is between April and November. Participation is free of charge. For further information and registration please visit www.innovationworldcup.com/iot-m2m.
