The jury of the >>Venture>> competition has announced the 15 winners of the 2020 edition - three in each of the five verticals. Following the second round of pitches, the jury will nominate the Grand prize winner that will receive a cash prize of CHF 150’000.

This year more than of 327 startups submitted their application to enter the >>venture>> competition. Fifty made it to the finalists, and only 15 in five verticals can today celebrate their success as the new winners of the 2020 edition. In the next round, the finalist will pitch one more time in front of the Advisory Board. The first-place winners per vertical will then compete for the coveted title of Grand Prize Winner and a total cash prize of CHF 150.000 in non-dilutive funds. The winner will also receive a business-consulting package from McKinsey & Company.

The top three winners are:

Health & Nutrition

Neurosoft – is developing next-generation soft implantable electrodes to interface with the nervous system

NextKidney – with NeoKidney, the startup is bringing to market the first hemodialysis device that is truly portable, physiological and cost-effective.

URODEA –its patent-pending technology non-invasive, handheld device aids in emptying the bladder by generating a urine flow while avoiding contact with urine.

Finance and Insurance

Stableton – is offering an alternative investment Fintech platform for qualified and institutional investors seeking exposure to liquid alternatives, private equity, including venture capital, private debt, and real assets.

UrbanDataLab – is a B2B web service offering advanced location analytics and customized business intelligence to enable smarter location-based business decisions on a global scale.

Z22 Technologies – financial research and quantitative asset management company that finds untapped potentials in a variety of markets.

ICT

BLP Digital AG – is an ETH Spin-off using artificial intelligence to automate document-based ERP and accounting workflows.

KaiosID – provides elegant and secured traceability to help brands to fight counterfeiting and grey market.

SO REAL Digital Twins – enables global access to immersive experiences through mass-producing cinematic-quality, XR- game-ready 3D objects using their patented scanning & conversion technology

Industrials & Engineering

Oxyle – uses clean energy to degrade hazardous micropollutants from wastewater, such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, chemicals etc.

RAAAM – develops a high-density memory technology that allows for up to 50% higher on-chip memory density with no cost, complexity or performance-penalty.

Swiss Ocean Tech – built a solution that monitors the absolute movement and position of an anchor, providing sub-meter accuracy with early alarms.

Retail & Consumer

mia&noa – its next generation of automated coffee bars combines a “zero waste” operating model with the convenience of ordering via smartphone.

Nuniq – is a direct-to-consumer hair-care product service that allows consumers to personalize their formula, blending natural ingredients that will be delivered in an unbreakable glass bottle, followed by waterless, soluble tabs.

Traverz – delivers the ultimate online product search experience, resulting in a faster conversion.

Audience Award
The award committee has chosen five startups from the 50 finalists to feature in the >>venture>> Audience Award and on RTS, the Swiss-French television broadcast station. The >>venture>> team invites the audience to vote for their favourite startup. The award will be open for voting from 8 - 22 June. The winner of the public award will receive CHF 10.000.

Virtual Award ceremony
The award ceremony this year will be held virtually on 22 June via Zoom to celebrate the winners. Registration is open.
