Zurich-based Bond mobility specialising in E-bike sharing services has acquired e-motionlabs, a Belgian based mobility technology company operating a fleet of e-bikes in Belgium, Germany, France and Netherlands. Bond hereby strengthens its technological capabilities and engineering capacity.

BOND Mobility in Switzerland known by its former brand name Smide, is a premium e-bike sharing operator, founded by Raoul Stöckle, Corrine Vogel, Nick Müller and Horace Dediu. The startup, with more than 60 employees, operates e-bikes that deliver speed and range comparable to cars and transit while offering an active, low-carbon mobility option to urban communities.

To strengthen its technological capabilities, Bond has acquired the Belgian based company e-motionlabs. Following the acquisition, Bond will integrate e-motionlabs’ platform and operations into its system to boost its service-oriented, data-driven offering and position the company as a full-stack technology company with smart vehicle design, engineering and connectivity expertise in addition to best-in-class operational excellence and premium positioning to consumers.

Raoul Stöckle, CEO of BOND Mobility, on the merger: “During this period of economic uncertainty, we are doubling our investment in technology, expanding partnerships and refining our operations. Consistent with this commitment, we completed our acquisition of the technology and talent of e-motionlabs.

E-motionlabs' technology allows companies ranging from vehicle manufacturers, operators, and systems integrators to provide connectivity to shared access vehicles via a customized technology stack tied to a powerful fleet management back-end. The team of e-motionlabs has also built a great customer base that provides partnership opportunities for BOND Mobility.
