Climate-KIC Accelerator awaits applications

The call for application for the Winter Batch 2019 of the Climate-KIC Accelerator has officially launched. Cleantech startups receive up to €85’000 in the three-stage program. Application deadline is July 22nd.

Climate-KIC is the EU’s main climate innovation initiative. It supports entrepreneurs, businesses, students and researchers bring their clean tech innovations, products and services to the market. The cleantech startup accelerator runs in more than 15 locations across Europe. In the DACH region, startups are eligible for up to €85k of financial support, business coaching and mentoring, investor matchmaking, events and training.

Startups go through three stages of the accelerator, each of which taking six months with a special focus. Stage 1 focuses on business model development, while stage 2 has customer traction at its heart and stage 3 is all about investment readiness. Each of the stages comes with financial support of €20k, €25k and €40k respectively. Climate-KIC does not take any equity.

Startups also have the chance to participate for the Side Call with Munich Re and ERGO. The side program is open to all startups. The teams are co-selected by Munich Re and ERGO and will simulataneously be part of the Climate-KIC accelerator, receiving additional financing, mentorship and sustainability training by Munich Re and ERGO staff.

Current Swiss Climate-KIC teams are Agrosustain, GRZ Technologies, Swiss Vault, WeGaw, Neustark, Hades, Bloom Bionewables and Gaia Membranes. Interested founders and startups with a new technology or service with commercial viability and climate impact, who are less than five years old and with a minimum of two full-time cofounders, can apply online until July 22nd.
