BlueOcean Ventures sells its stake in Distal Motion

BlueOcean Ventures SA announced that it has sold 100 percent of its shares in Distal Motion SA. BlueOcean’s investors achieve a “healthy” return.

BlueOcean was an early investor in Distal Motion SA since 2013. Faris Sabeti, General Partner and Co-Founder of BlueOcean Ventures declared: “BlueOcean’s interest have been sold against a 100 percent payment, allowing BlueOcean’s investors to achieve a healthy return on their investment within a period of five years”. The shares were sold to existing investors of Distalmotion.

Distal Motion SA, based in the biopole of Epalinges near Lausanne, Switzerland, is developing ‘Dexter’, a robotic surgery device combining the affordability of a laparoscopy with the benefits of robotic solutions. Distal Motion is a spin-off from the Laboratoire de Systèmes Robotiques (LSRO) Group, headed by Prof. Hannes Bleuler at EPFL.
