BLOCKCHAIN PROPULSION has launched a new global accelerator program financed by fees and equity stakes to support blockchain-based startups in raising funds, scaling and expanding globally. Selected projects will benefit from an end-to-end program and gain access to a global network. The accelerator has launched hubs in Switzerland, Brazil, China, UAE and India.
BLOCKCHAIN PROPULSION is a Swiss-based global accelerator was founded in 2018 by a team of international blockchain entrepreneurs and practitioners. Based on their personal experiences, the founders observed that blockchain based startups are confronted with several challenges including the failure to find the right experts to support their projects.
Through the accelerator program, offered at its hubs in Switzerland, India, China, UAE and Brazil, startups and enterprises will now have a platform to meet experts, coaches and mentors to support them throughout their journey. The startups will benefit from a tailored program with the experts who will cover a broad spectrum of topics including strategy, design, tokenomics, technology, legal and regulatory, marketing, security, asset tokenization, and fundraising. Currently, the service provider has 12 experienced mentors in its hubs in Switzerland.
Fees and equity stakes
The service fees are partially covered by the start-ups (shared risk/reward) and vary depending on the scope and needs of each project. In addition, the accelerator program receives success fees on capital raised and a minor equity stake as part of its long-term engagement and commitment to propel blockchain projects to success.
Stefan Deiss believes that the end-to-end model is of the essence for the startups. He asserts that “We will work closely with the startups to ensure that they can develop a business case for the market and ensure that they address customer needs in order to develop a propelling value proposition. We also aim to support the startups on a long term basis to help them find the right investors for their ideas, execute their ideas after raising funds and help them to scale by giving them access to markets. Therefore our collaboration with the startups will be continuous.”
Every year, startups selected on an ongoing basis will benefit from the program. To qualify, projects must meet high standards across a selection of key criteria including business idea/concept; high disintermediation; network effects; team and talent; environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact; initial funding; legal & risk assessment.

Expanding Blockchain to global markets
BLOCKCHAIN PROPULSION will also support projects in their efforts to expand into global markets. This month, they entered a partnership with swissnex India, strengthening ties in the Indian market.
“Since BLOCKCHAIN PROPULSION is working full time with small numbers of startups, I believe that they will do well in advising the startups internally,” says Prateek Khare, Head of Startup partnerships at swissnex India. swissnex India will enable the accelerator to expand globally by coaching and scaling the Swiss startups in the Indian market.
