With the Matterhorn-Projects, digitalswitzerland wants to identify ideas that promise Switzerland and the world sustainable progress. The Ideas should have an effect on the macroeconomic level. Ideas can be submitted until 22 June.

Today, visionary ideas can only be realized collaboratively. It is precisely this joint implementation of ideas by society, politics, business, culture and academics that digitalswitzerland aims to achieve. From the very beginning, digitalswitzerland was not a closed circle, but stressed the importance of openness.

In line with this approach, an open innovation platform was launched in April. On this platform, digitalswitzerland is currently looking for ideas for "Matterhorn Projects", projects that can change Switzerland, just as visionaries like Alfred Escher did in the past. These Matterhorn Projects will benefit from the digitalswitzerland structures by using the existing platforms and networks, as well as the Digital Day.

„We are convinced that Switzerland has the most innovative and creative minds, as well as a population that can make conscious and responsible decisions. These elements, a digital platform, a big stage, as well as bright minds and an open-minded population make a one of a kind mix for a sustainable change. “, comments Nicolas Bürer, managing director of digitalswitzerland.

Ideas for the Matterhorn Projects can be entered on the open innovation platform until June 22  by registering via this link. In this first phase it's about finding visionary ideas. After June 22 the most promising ideas will be selected. The best idea(s) will be presented on stage on the 25th of October 2018 during the Digital Day. The support of the digitalswitzerland network to turn the idea into reality will follow after the announcement of the selected idea.
