The winter batch for the Climate Kic acceleration program begins in October. Startups that are dedicated to tackling climate change can now submit their applications. The program offers financial support, coaching and mentoring. Deadline closes on 29 July.

Selected startups will participate in an intensive two-day Bootcamp to listen to inspirational talks, attend workshops and acquire further information on how they will proceed in the program. They will also participate in other events such as the Demo Day, Investors Dinner and Master Classes events that take place throughout the programme

A three-stage program
Climate Kic accelerator offers a three-stages program, each lasting 6 months.
The first stage is the Business Model Development. In this stage early-stage Startups will refine and develop their specific USP and business model. Here the first prototype can be finalised and assistance is provided to obtain industry feedback. This stage critically provides access to more mature startups in later stages of the Accelerator as well as to expert coaching, 1-2-1 mentoring and workshops, and the Climate-KIC European contacts network and events. This stage offers €20,000.

In the second stage participants concentrate on customer traction which involves acquiring the first customers and an iterative process of business model validation. They will again receive support from expert coaches and mentors as well as participate in programme activities and workshops. These more mature startups will be able to display their ventures in several internal and external showcase events, growing their individual network. €25,000 is offered to the best startup.

The last stage prepares businesses for a future of investment rounds and scaling. Teams get continued access to our office and meeting spaces, as well as attend to all events, coaching, mentoring and workshops. Startups in this stage of the programme are supported in preparation for negotiations with potential investors and partners and can tap into a vast network of investor contacts and partners. The best startup receives €50,000

Eligible to apply are startups with new technology or service that have commercial viability and climate impact. Registration is now open until 29th July 2018.
