Lambda Robot

Lambda Health System SA has closed its seed round with various business angels, private investors and an industrial partner. The company is now focusing on obtaining the CE mark and accelerating the commercialization of its first device, the Lambda robot. First sales are expected in 2018.

Lambda Health System (LHS), based at the Y-PARC Swiss Technopole, was founded in September 2015 under the leadership of entrepreneurs Aurélien Fauquex and Yannick Charrotton. It aims to democratize state-of-the-art robotics for post-stroke rehabilitation by offering physicians and therapists advanced technical solutions at an affordable cost. The company has won various awards and is supported by organizations and institutions such as CTI, Genilem, Venture-Kick and HES-SO. For its economic development, Lambda Health System also counts on the support of the Canton of Vaud and the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT).

The first product is called Lambda. The Lambda robot ha his roots at the EPFL thanks to the competencies in robotics and biomechanics of several professors and the medical expertise of physicians. Its development then continued in the laboratories of the University Of Applied Sciences Of Western Switzerland (HES-SO). The result is a complete and easy-to-use concept, merging classic therapies with advanced modes, combining haptic feedback and a virtual environment. The device allows the therapist to reduce his costs and the patient to intensify his training. Early clinical trials conducted at the beginning of 2016 at the CHUV showed excellent results, as well as significant improvements in mobility indicators in 9 out of 10 patients.
