GenView, the business cockpit software editor based at the EPFL Innovation Park, announced today the closing of Series A financing round led by a tier one player in the transport sector.

This new funding will comfort GenView in its position as a leader in the Big Data visualization, and will contribute to give an impetus to GenView’s international growth by expanding its offers in integrated services. “I’m happy that a Swiss investor, outside the field of IT, recognizes the innovation and uniqueness of the product. It proves that our cutting-edge solution GenView 3D is ahead of its time in Smart Data management and provides solution to a lack of offering in this market”, said Thierry Navarro, GenView’s CEO.

For Michel Sérié – Chairman of the board and former Global Head of Service Innovation at SAP – this round of investment will speed up the development of GenView 3D’s version available on SAP HANA, SAP’s latest database solution. “There’s a strong need for a 3D data visualization tool compatible with SAP’s system and this is a tremendous opportunity for us. Most software companies focus on Big Data management and data processing. At GenView, we do care more about making data understandable to decision makers, who are looking for simplicity and mobility, and this is exactly what GenView is offering them. The increasing number of our customer base today is a testimony that we’re definitely heading in the right direction”.

The release of the SAP HANA–version is expected in Q3 of 2016.
