SWISSto12 announces the investment of an undisclosed sum by the Zürcher Kantonalbank.

It was a good month for Swissto12. Just after winning CHF 100’000 from the W. A. de Vigier foundation, the company announced the closing of an investment round.

SWISSto12 aims at becoming a leading global supplier of components and systems for terahertz signal transmission. Terahertz (THz), the frequencies between electronics and optics, was until recently the last underemployed part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Harnessing THz-based technologies has the potential of globally impacting a vast number of industries, like both electronics in the 70’s and optics in the 80’s.

Both founders, Emile de Rijk and Alessandro Macor, have developed a comprehensive line of products which combines ideal high-intensity high-performance transmission lines, low loss and low dispersion, which is able to cover large distances.

The innovative and patented technology can be implemented in a customisable way and appears to have a particularly promising future in medicinal and telecommunications technology.

A longer article on SWISSto12 will follow next week.
