Qnami ProteusQ

Qnami AG, developer of new technology using quantum mechanics, has signed a strategic collaboration and global distribution agreement with Horiba, a Japanese manufacturer of precision instruments for measurement and analysis. The latter will commercialize Qnami ProteusQ on a global scale.

Qnami ProteusQ is a complete quantum microscope system. It is the first scanning NV (nitrogen-vacancy) microscope for the analysis of magnetic materials at the atomic scale. Built on, and powered by the AFM (atomic force microscope) platform from Horiba, the Qnami ProteusQ system comes with state-of-the-art electronics and software. Its flexible design allows for future adjustments and scaling, expansion and capability upgrades.

The proprietary quantum technology provides high–precision images allowing its users to directly see the most subtle properties of their samples and the effect of microscopic changes in their design or fabrication process. The platform hence opens a new window on materials research and gives scientists and R&D engineers a new level of control to drive innovation in the design, creation and delivery of smart and energy-efficient electronics.

The Basel-based startup Qnami and Horiba, a global leader in measurement and analysis solutions for advanced research and industry, and the world leader in Raman microscopy and nanoscopy have combined forces to launch the Qnami ProteusQ globally.

Under the terms of the agreement, Horiba and its global network of affiliates and distributors will become the exclusive channel for global distribution of the Qnami ProteusQ.  Horiba’s global footprint and its reputation for extremely high-quality instruments, service and support will enable researchers globally to benefit from both the cutting-edge innovation from Qnami and the customer service they expect from an established provider of high-tech instrumentation.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership,” stated Qnami AG CEO Mathieu Munsch. “The combination of the Qnami and Horiba technologies has enabled us to deliver an instrument that offers a breakthrough in performance, precision and usability for the surface analysis of magnetic materials.  And the distribution arrangement with Horiba will accelerate the launch of this technology into the labs of researchers globally.”
