Two Swiss companies are among the 20 selected startups for the RobotUnion acceleration program. For the next 12 months, they will benefit from acceleration services and equity-free cash and as they compete for a position in the top four to win up to €100,000.

RobotUnion is an EU Horizon 2020 backed program organised by a consortium comprising of 14 partners from 7 European countries. The program brings together SMEs and startups in the robotics with corporates, researchers, acceleration program and investors to create the best conditions for long-term business success for all involved.

Through a 12 months program, RobotUnion offers selected startups with online premium acceleration services, led by top research and technology organisations across Europe and leading digital ecosystem professionals and entrepreneurs.

For the second edition, the selection committee has nominated twenty startups that will benefit from the program. Among them are two Swiss startups Rigitech and Rovenso. RigiTech from Sierre (Valais) is dedicated to improving the logistics industry with its ‘RigiOne’ drone for cargo delivery while Rovenso from Lausanne is developing autonomous agile robots for security monitoring in challenging and harsh environments.

In the initial round, the twenty startups will each receive €3800. Startups that excel among the top ten will enter the product acceleration program in addition to receiving €120,000 equity free cash. In the final round, four will receive €100,000 with the possibility to be privately funded with around €1M.

Alongside financial support, the startups will receive technical support and access to “premier-class” technology, training and mentoring by a pool of mentors from Google, Airbnb, Ikea, Yahoo, Prisa, Microsoft, among others. They will have the opportunity to increase their visibility through participation in top EU Scaleup events such as 4YFN@Mobile World Congress, Slush and Web Summit.
