Loriot, an Internet of Things (IoT) specialist, has seen significant growth since its foundation in 2015. Today, the startup serves more than 6000 clients in 100 countries. The startup is further expanding its team in its headquarters in Thalwil to extend its core business and customer services.

After opening offices in Valencia, Budapest and Tel-Aviv, Loriot is dedicated to further extending its services both at a local and global level and to serve its ever growing client base. With additional team members, the startup seeks to improve its products whilst bringing its core business forward.

As their new team member, the startup has appointed Yannik Kopp to further technical development of Loriot products. Kopp will focus on strengthening the relationship with national and international clients whilst bridging the gap between the technical development team and the geographically distributed business units.

Prior to his new position, Kopp was leading a group of experts and consultants in the field of IoT for one of the biggest consulting companies in Switzerland. He implemented numerous IoT projects for leading Swiss energy suppliers. As a specialist for Microsoft Azure Cloud, he is bringing years of experience with the diverse Azure components into Loriot and its customers. During his university studies in 2015, Kopp did research on the Internet of Things and LoRaWAN, allowing him to have an extensive knowledge in this field.

“We’re excited having Yannik in the Loriot family. With his experience from the consulting business and his industry knowhow Yannik will bring a tremendous added value to Loriot’s clients” comments Julian Studer CFO at Loriot.

“I see a huge potential in the market of IoT especially in combination with the LoRaWAN technology. The products of Loriot serve the business needs perfectly” says Kopp about his motivation for joining Loriot.

About Loriot
The startup’s main focus lies on the LoRaWAN technology, an energy-efficient and comprehensive communications protocol. Loriot’s products facilitate the gathering and forwarding of sensor data on a platform protected by banking-grade security. On the infrastructure developed by Loriot itself, the sensor data can then be analysed and used for the implementation of any kind of IoT- use case. Technology companies like IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Microchip, STM, and others already rely on the industry-leading products, know-how and expertise of the young Swiss company.

To fully leverage the potential of the rapidly growing IoT market, Loriot is keeping its focus on acquiring new talents for their international team in Switzerland, Spain, and other locations worldwide.
