During the visit of the Swiss President Johann Ammann Schneider in South Korea on 13th and 14th July, Domosafty, a Swiss startup providing home care services for elderly people, will announce its numerous collaborations with renowned institutions in the domain of health care in South Korea.

Switzerland's President of the Confederation Johann Schneider-Ammann will make a two-day visit to Seoul on July 13 and 14. President Park Geun-hye of South Korea and her guest will hold a summit on July 13 to discuss stronger partnerships across a broad range of areas, from trade and investment through to science, technology and IT for job training. They will exchange their views on geopolitical issues, too, such as North Korea, the Korean Peninsula and Europe, along with other global issues. During their scheduled talks, the two leaders will discuss measures to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the medical and healthcare industries, including on "bio-health," industrial IT and support for startups.

During the event, DomoSafety will announce the official launch of a long-term collaboration with Red Cross College of nursing (ChungAng), HIDEA Solutions (major player in Telecare in South-Korea) and Dongjak, a major district of Seoul. This collaboration will consist of the use of DomoSafety’s services by Korean senior centers which aims at maintaining a good quality of life while living at home as long as possible. Indeed, Ageing is also a major concern in South Korea and the government is actively seeking innovative solution such as DomoSafety. This announcement is a result of 4 years of intensive work between South Korea and Switzerland, and is the start of the vision for DomoSafety to become a leader of digital health in Asia.

In 2014, Seoul city mayor, a strong believer in social and healthcare innovation, redesigned the way the city of Seoul cares for its elderly population by creating care center in each district of Seoul (25 districts in total). This social and care innovation is now in discussion by the ministry of health and welfare for its roll-out in the whole country. DomoSafety brings 40 years of experience from Switzerland and its innovative home care system which has been elected as the world best health care system by Forbes in 2012.

Since 2012 Domosafety has accomplished a number of milestones involving its relationship and activities with and in South Korea. These began with their partnership with HIDEA solutions for the co-development of its solution. In 2015, Domosafety was the first Swiss company to receive a CTI (Commission for Technology and Innovation) project grant from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) Switzerland involving directly a Korean university: KAIST. In the same year, Domosafety opened a branch in Korea to support its Asian activities. Moreover, the startup signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with LG CNS and is now integrating with LG CNS healthcare division with expected agreement in Q2.

This year the startup already has plans in outlook. It is currently discussing with three in Seoul city for installations of our system in their senior centers, it plans to sign a MoU with Dongjak and Mapo district for the installation of DomoSafety system, and partnership with the districts senior centers in 2016 and with the Red cross college of nursing CAU for a proof of concept intented for early 2017.

“DomoSafety stands for the actual and future success of our both countries collaboration. We believe in the strength of each country and the mutual benefits we can gain from one another. We are trying and succeeding to connect the advanced healthcare systems from Korea and Switzerland”, says Edouard Goupy, CEO and Co-Founder of DomoSafety.
