Vibwife awarded at Aspire event

Aspire wants to empower females by creating an environment that nurtures their talents and thrives on discussion, debate and cultivation of new ideas. Founded in January 2014, the organisation offers girls and women a program of workshops, mentoring and events to increase their advancement and become the leaders of tomorrow.

The mentorship programme is a series of personal sessions and tailored workshops developed to benefit female entrepreneurs in bringing scalable ideas to life. The first programme was launched in January 2015 - the picture shows mentors, mentees and the Aspire team at the launch event - and ran for six months. Last week six mentees pitched to a jury of entrepreneurs and investors.

Vibwife convinced the jury and won the Business Award. Founded by Anna Peters and Tobias von Siebenthal, Vibwife GmbH develops a medical device to promote natural birth by actively supporting the women during labor.

The rate of unplanned cesarean sections increases worldwide every year. The Vibwife GmbH wants to reduce the unplanned cesarean section rate by helping to reposition the baby to the ideal birth position. Successfully doing this will also lead to a shorter birth duration. This enables women to have more secure and shorter births.

Vibwife also won the audience award together with “The Trip Boutique”, a start-up founded by Fernanda Mutz. The Trip Boutique is a digital travel agency offering personalised trips.

Great training and contacts
Vibwife founder Anna Peters said about the Aspire mentoring program: “Over the past months, we were able to attend several start-up competitions where we were able to win first and second places. More important than the awards to us personally are the reactions and the feedback of the jury and guests regarding our business.

The mentoring program from Aspire was very valuable to us. We received great training from the Aspire team and external coaches. In the process all mentees and the Aspire team grew together closely and questioned all ideas to improve them. My mentor from the Aspire program was worth more than we could have ever wished for. She connected us at the right time with the right people. Our wish is that many hospitals will use our product to empower woman giving birth around the globe.”
